Porto Pollo
photo taken from inside Flirtie... it was dryer!
Porto Pollo is a compact fishing village. A handful of hotels line the road behind the village's narrow beach. At this time of year traffic is minimal and it's a peaceful place only interrupted by the intermittent braying sound from the local donkey. Clearly it gets very busy here given the large number of restaurants and bars and with prices more akin to the French Riviera - a small coke costs €4!
Porto Pollo will be the place remembered by us for being moored on a buoy with 25 knots of wind blowing straight across the Golfe and into the bay. We were glad that we picked up the larger buoy!
Conditions in the Med really do change in a blink of an eye. From mirror calm to a white water ride in less than 15 minutes. Thankfully it was short lived before more normal conditions returned. The jet bikes loved every minute - we had reservations!
