Nothing Like a Good Read
29 December 2008
Kath
So I love reading !! and have books in both our visitors cabins that are for swapping when we are away, either by people staying with us or people we meet on our travels.
So I thought I would list books and authors that others may enjoy.
One for the ladies - I Married a Pirate by Samantha David Full of humour with a sailing theme, one you will find hard to put down.
Basically any of Clive Cussler's books although the ones featuring Kurt Austin I am afraid I read as if he was Dirk Pitt.
Crime writer Margaret Yorke an author not to be missed.
US crime writer Michael Connelly new nothing of this author when I first read one of his books, I now have the set up to date and intend reading them in order after we have set sail - can't wait

"Diva" had been out of the water for a few years and was in need of some tlc.
We worked on her for a year, the main jobs were;
New rigging - Jerry the Rigger.
Application of "Coppershield "antifouling - huge thanks to Ray Smith for hours of scraping to remove old antifouling and primer as well as applying the new and Bob Day who learn't the hard way how to mix Coppershield!!
Fitting a bow thruster - Mark and Greg Gosport Yacht Services.
She went back in the water on the 16th September 2005 and with the help of a few friends namely, Paul Fullick, Ray Smith, Andy Powell and Kath's son "Fred" we made our maiden voyage to her berth in Royal Clarence Marina, Gosport.
We moved aboard and further work has continued, New Saloon and cockpit cushions, re-upholstery of bunk cushions - Graham Swallow.
In 2008 we lost our beloved springer "Megan" but at least were able to lay here to rest amongst the bluebells on our old shooting grounds at Mere
We fitted;
A holding tank ( don't want to do that again in a hurry!!!) - Tek Tanks
Wind generator
Solar panels with Blue Sky booster
