Boat Lagoon, Phuket Thailand

We arrived back at Boat Lagoon, Phuket the morning of Tuesday 4th June after 2 months at home catching up with family and friends. As usual Brian needed a project whilst we were home and as he couldn’t find one at our place, we decided to give the kids a hand and demolished a porch, removed a back door, reframed and clad the outside walls in preparation for them remodeling their kitchen.
The plan for the next few weeks to month will be to finalise the work on Dol and put all fixtures and fittings back on before launch, possibly at the end of June. After dropping all our gear off at the condominium we couldn’t resist a walk around to the boat yard and our first look at Dol. Wow, she looks great. The extension looks like it has always been there, the hull is all shiny with her new paint; the chrome fittings are back from the chromers and in place and the teak decks look great and all in all we are very pleased with refit. It’s going to be a busy period for Brian, he started work on Wednesday putting all the mast fittings back on the newly painted mast and then has a list of other jobs to be done before Dol is launched.
The weather here is certainly warmer then Auckland, although not as humid as we remembered it when we left. We will update the blog again once we are back in the water and out cruising.
