Another late posting

Greetings to all from Cabo San Lucas, day four I think. We're still stuck on the wrong side of the Sea waiting for the wind to drop before going across to Mazatlan, so only a month behind schedule. What schedule? But making the best of it with our neighbors in the same plight. We spent Christmas Eve [...]

Late posting of Dave's email message

We departed San Diego Wednesday morning to Ensenada to check into Mexico. We motored the 65 nm to Ensenada. Enroute I noticed a definite lack of any output from the alternator which required an extra day at Marina Coral for the repair. We got checked in, made our repair, bought more parts for the voyage [...]

We minimized power consumption and made it no problem. Only hand steered in daylight and a beautiful sail all afternoon and last night as is should always be or is at least hoped for.
We arrived his evening after dark, but on high tide so the entrance was no problem. We're tied up and off boat at our favorite restaurant, Pancho's!
Have a Happy New Year wherever you are.

What schedule? But making the best of it with our neighbors in the same plight. We spent Christmas Eve on the 58' catamaran "Moggy" which we have learned is an English, or in this case Australian, affectionate term
for a pet cat. The owners being Australian.
Moggy's owners Dave & Lynn, Moggy and us, not particularly in that order. We are making the best of it in this very pleasant, 75° weather, but becoming anxious to move on and to get south to Zihuatanejo hopefully by about February 1. I need that as I've been saving up again for the Shot, Shave and a Haircut event!
This afternoon we've all been invited back to Moggy for roast lamb dinner. Do a quiet Christmas day here aboard Dos Pacificos doing a few projects as I brought a ton of parts with me.
Hope you are all well and Happy Holidays to you all!

Enroute I noticed a definite lack of any output from the alternator which required an extra day at Marina Coral for the repair. We got checked in, made our repair, bought more parts for the voyage and enjoyed the evening there. The Coral facility has a nice Hotel and marina complex, pool, spa, restaurants etc.
This morning we got our last full shower, breakfast at the hotel, topped off fuel and we're off. We'll see how far we can get before putting in. Mexico has pretty good cell service and we've picked it up before when about 5 miles off shore so will try to reconnect. In the meantime we will use Spot to confirm our locations and status as we'll generally be further off than that, up to 50 nm.
Hopefully the next real stop will be Mazatlan about
1000 nm.

We started out from San Diego on 12/13/17 and headed to Ensenada. Checked in and left the next day. We had to stop in Turtle Bay to get more fuel, so we went to town and there's not much open on Sundays. We found a tienda to buy a few items and then ate at the only open restaurant. Very good pizza. We have not made any other stops since then and just arrived at Cabo. Looks like we will be staying for a few days, because of weather. We anchored out and may go into town for dinner tonight.
