Headed to Monterey
05 November 2018 | Monterey bay
Left lovely refurbished Santa Cruz harbor behind with the promise of whales galore...
Saw a squadron of pelicans i the morning fog but not much more than that, little did we know how much more critter watching we would soon have in Monterey!
Calm seas , lovely sun , some wind, motor sailed into very narrow opening into A dock Wharf2 super close to our new found favorite restaurant - the sand bar -
Ate there every night we could. Our resident sea otters entertained us from the moment we got there , great blue herons and night herons everywhere fishing on the harbors abundance - starfish, abalone and mussels on the pilings along with peregrine falcon fink g in pigeons. Did I say otters 3 slips down ??!! Better stay awhile !!
