Rose Island to Royal Island
15 March 2011
We sailed five hours along the NE Bahama passage and arrived back on the great Bahama Bank by Egg Island and then anchored in the Royal Island Harbor with 13 other sailboats. When we woke up at 8:00 am we were the only ones left in the anchorage!! We assumed they were all up early headed north back to the USA to take advantage of light winds to cross the banks and the Gulf Stream. Tried new way of marking the anchor rode – sewed 1” orange webbing flags every 25’ on it (spray paint keeps coming off) – runs through windless OK, hope they stay for a while! Still trying to improve on my yogurt making (Liz – it is still a little runny and lumpy – is that correct??). Sprouts are doing great – we eat them on sandwiches and salads – going to expand my little garden and order some different seeds online at next internet stop. I AM NOT GETTING DOMESTIC. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
