Bitter Iguana Cay to Staniel Cay

23 April 2011
Having breakfast in the cockpit, we were entertained this morning by three tropic birds (two males/one female) diving into the water surrounding DreamCatcher. After breakfast we headed over to Staniel Cay – jib sailed 1.5 hours (six miles), anchoring off the beach at Big Major Cay. Big Major Cay is where the swimming pigs live – it’s a local tourist spot where when you visit the beach the pigs come out to you for food! Beware though – they are very aggressive and can bite you or tear up your inflatable dinghy! Think we will stay a fair distance off and just observe!! Dinked into Staniel Cay to visit the town and check out the yacht club. Happy hour started at 4:00, with a live band on the docks. There are many big yachts here, in addition to us regular sailors! We had dinner and enjoyed sitting on the dock listening to the band and people watching. Plan to return tomorrow after Church to use their wifi and have lunch.
