Snake Cay to Treasure Cay
11 January 2012
After picking up our two anchors (one of them by dink) we headed over to Treasure Cay. We had a brisk five hour sail with variable winds from 6 knots to 25 knots. We dinked into shore to check out the area, rounded a pier at the marina and there was a Blackwatch 18' sailboat!! For those of you who only knew me with the Dana 24, I owned a Blackwatch (thank you Vickie - you changed the course of my life!!) prior and absolutely loved her. We inquired about her and were told that the owners lived in a condo right in front of her dock, so we wandered over and introduced ourselves to Bill and Lorna, a lovely couple from Canada. They invited us to see s/v Abaco Queen and to their condo for drinks. Seeing Abaco Queen, no one could imagine that I sailed with three other people and we slept aboard (Don and Suzy, you are real sports)! What wonderful memories I have of Sirena.
