Old Fort Bay to Morgans Bluff, Andros
14 March 2012
Great 30 mile broad reach sail today in 4.5 hours, including shortening sail for 30 minute battle with a large bull Mahi Mahi. Only one other boat anchored here. We planned to go ashore but squalls moved in so we took naps, made beef barley stew and pan bread. We hope to rent a car tomorrow and tour the northern part of the island (the island is broken into three parts by fresh water creeks with no bridges). Andros is the largest Bahamian island, and the wettest – until two months ago they provided 6M gallons of water a day to Nassau (via tanker), now Nassau has their own water generation plant.
