Gibson Cay
20 March 2012
We had a leisurely morning (read: slept late) and headed out in the dink to look for the Gibson Cay blue hole. After a hike into the interior of the island, we found the oceanic blue hole amidst a lunar type landscape, probably the prettiest blue hole we’ve seen in the Bahamas. Bruce snorkeled on the way back to the boat and found a couple of conchs and a patch reef with more fish than he’s seen in all the Bahamas combined. This area of Andros is the bone fishing capital of the world, with Bruce seeing a school of more than 100 bonefish while walking along the shore.
