Herradura, El Salvador to Chiapas, Mexico
23 April 2016
April 21 – 23, 2016 Easy crossing of the bar for our departure (thank you Bill for the spot on forecasting!) – very thankful! We had a fun two day sail to Chiapas – no major breakdowns and lots of pupusas! We arrived in Chiapas at 5:30 pm with plenty of daylight to take a slip and have an initial visit by customs and navy personnel including a sniffer dog named “Piranha” (searching for drugs and animals – thankfully no smells of prior felines Snowball and Liza) – official check in will be on Monday when the port captain’s office is open. Enjoyed a lovely dinner in the marina restaurant “Baos” – Bruce is excited, he is in the land of spices again after years of only cilantro, hot pepper and occasionally cumin! Photo is our sendoff party – lots of purple!
I thank my God for every remembrance of you. Phil 1:3
