Barra de Navidad
01 March 2017
February 17 – March 1, 2017 As new cruisers to this area we made lots of new friends and connected with old ones – this evening’s dinner we were blessed to be with Sylvia and Clyde (m/v Kaleidescope), Eileen and Peter (s/v Appleseeds) and Jon and Lisa (s/v Molly J). We walked the streets afterwards to marvel at the Mardi Gras carnival setup and have fresh, hot Churros – yum!! We also finished the five part Andy Stanley sermon series “Why in the World”. One of the unique things Christians believe is that God became one of us. For thirty years he lived under cover as a carpenter, surfaced as a miracle worker and rabbi for three years, and allowed himself to die in the most degrading way imaginable. He came as one of us but was treated as less than one of us. Why in the world would God do that? Like any father, our heavenly father wants to be known. While it is true that Jesus came to die for our sins, he lived his life to explain the father. Look past Jesus and you will miss him. Like son like father. He wants to know you.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
