Los Candeleros to Puerto Escondido

12 April 2018
Seven mile motor – sigh again (we are officially “a powerboat with options”). We have finally arrived at the “hidden port” – this nearly land locked inner harbor now has 70 mooring balls (almost full during our stay – a strong norther was forecast – three days of 25+ knot winds) and a marina with 90 slips. It is a great hurricane hole and is 14 miles south of Loreto. The first mission of the California’s was established in 1697 in Loreto and at one time was the political and economic capital of Baja. Today kayaking and tourism is their big industry with a small international airport nearby.
