This morning we were startled awake around 1 am by a knock on the boat – a car near the anchorage had gone off the cliff and crashed into the water! A doctor was needed, so Bruce and I headed for shore. Seems two Mexican fishermen were out drinking and decided to turn their car around on the narrow cliffside road, with one directing the driver from the roadside the back tire accidently went off the cliff and plummeted down and into the water. The driver was thrown out of the car, but needed medical help with a minor head wound. A rope was ran down the cliff and Bruce and another cruiser were able to help him back up to the road. After a dinghy was dispatched to the nearby village a truck with four locals came and picked up Adrian for a trip to the Loreto hospital. Thank you Lord his injuries were minor!
