Going Green!

15 July 2009 | Greenway Sound, Broughton Island
WX: o/c w/ partial clearing @ times, temp 80, wind L/V
We decided to move from Sullivan Bay over to Greenway sound just to see what was here. We're glad we did. This is a very quiet, peaceful spot. (Well, except when the Kenmore Air Otter comes in.)

Night Music was half an hour or so behind us, having stopped to fuel up before leaving Sullivan Bay. While we were waiting for them, we were pleasantly surprised to hear our TYC friends, Ted and Margaret, call in for moorage. We had last seen them just briefly when we stopped by Pierre's at Echo Bay a week ago. Hadn't expected to see them again. So now their Enchantment is moored across the dock from us, right in front of Night Music.

Of course within ten minutes of her arrival, Margaret had made the rounds of all the boats and organized Happy Hour for the entire marina. Fun time and the best part is it was held on our section of dock so we didn't have to walk anywhere. If you check out Greenway Sound's website, you'll see that their docks are configured in a huge "U" which is about half a mile from tip to tip.

Greenway's restaurant isn't operating, but they do make pizzas. Pizza, like ice cream, assumes greater significance when you're cruising and can't just call up Domino's and have them deliver one. So needless to say, it was pizza for dinner. And it was great!

We've also heard from friends Gary and Deva who, at last report, were negotiating Dent Rapids. That means that, weather permitting, they'll be here in the Broughtons in a couple of days. Since Night Music will be leaving for home in another week or so, we hope we can meet up with Gary and Deva and cruise with them for awhile.
