Lagoon...one last time

02 August 2009 | Lagoon Cove Marina, East Cracroft Island
WX: partial p.m. clearing, temp 70, wind NW 10-15
We came back to Lagoon Cove one last time before heading south "for real." This was where we began our Broughtons adventure back on July 3 and it makes a good "jumping off point" for the trip "out and around the corner" back to Desolation Sound. The weather forecast isn't all that great, predicting 30-knot northwesterlies in Johnstone Strait tomorrow. We're relying on the fact that the wind doesn't usually get really cranked up until afternoon, in which case we should have plenty of time to make the run and duck back into Sunderland Channel. If we've figured everything correctly, we'll make it through both Whirlpool and Greene Point Rapids and get back down to the Blind Channel area.

Since we don't expect to have internet access for several days after leaving here, our faithful readers (both of you) will just have to wait and see where we ended up!
