More from Bahia Santa Maria

Tuesday; I had to ask someone what day today is before I started typing this. It's really difficult to remember after awhile because the days just blend one into another. BUT, I DO know that today is the day of the big seafood feast on the beach here at Bahia Santa Maria. There is nothing here but a couple of houses on the point . . . residents of the surrounding area haul in the food, a band comes in, they have lots of beer on ice, ready to rock and roll this afternoon. We had thought we'd take the dinghy in but the swells are so big that we're going to pile a bunch of us into one of the local's pangas and take our chances with their expertise getting to shore. We did the same thing coming back out to Duetto from the Turtle Bay beach party (at least Susan & I did) and could not believe how many people got crammed onto that boat. It was quite the funny experience, but only because we didn't tip the darn thing over!
We spent most of yesterday just lounging around, reading, & napping. John, Nancy, Maddie, & Sophie Hughes and John Herrold came over to enjoy a sushi feast like you can't even begin to imagine! Tim sliced up lots and lots of tuna, Susan mixed up some wasabi, and we all ate our fill. Can you imagine what that would cost at a sushi restaurant? I was amazed that even Maddie and Sophie, who are 8 & 9, are raw fish eaters. I guess when you live on a boat you get used to eating whatever shows up on your plate. We also had a nice warm piece of brie with cherries on top to round out the fish. A few margaritas, some wine & beer, lemonade for the kids, and we had a marvelous dinner.
It's windy as heck here today but still very beautiful. Stuart will be off to the captain's rum tasting party in a little while then we'll spend the rest of the day at beach party. We leave tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. for our last leg of the trip down to Cabo San Lucas. This is the shortest leg and the Ha-Ha ends there with a party at a bar on Squid Row. Once we're settled into Cabo we should be able to have some internet access and can make some calls and send e-mails. We'll get some pictures up on the blog then too. Hugs to everyone!!
P.S. Met a woman at the potluck at Turtle Bay who is from Spencer, hits all the same high spots that we do when we go to the Lakes (Tweeters, Taco House, etc.), and whose brother & sister-in-law live in Sanborn. The brother is involved in the building of some sort of new plant in Marcus. Another "small world" story!
