We originally stopped here just to check into Mexico and get our fishing licenses, and had only planned to stay in Ensenada for 3-days. It has now been 2 months since we arrived on New Years Eve 2015. Ensenada is "sticky" that way.
Cruiseport Marina has turned out to be a great place to hang out and work on Due West, wait out weather, get the kinks worked out of computer issues, and deal with family emergencies. Heidi's dad Verne has had some health issues recently, and we're sending him lots of LOVE and healing energy from afar, hoping to visit him soon.
We've made good headway on lots of projects here, including hauling the boat out for a few days at Baja Naval Boatyard, among other things. We've had fun on the SSB and VHF nets learning radio "protocols". And we've made some good new friends here, some who have sailed on ahead of us, and others who have plans to sail south soon as well.
We are now looking forward to fair winds and following seas as we set sail for Cabo San Lucas and then Puerto Vallarta. Current weather looks favorable to leave Ensenada on Monday, February 29th.
Happy LEAP Year, happy birthday Jim, and HAPPY 85th Birthday Dad! Wish we were there to help you celebrate!

Post Script... We got Due West 100% ready to take off by Monday afternoon, but we were exhausted. So we've headed to bed early and will be up by 0530 to set sail (or motor?!) by 0600 Tuesday morning, March 1st.
