Holed up in Shelburne By
04 June 2018 | Shelburne Bay
25 mph wind, rain, 3 foot waves
We woke up to 25 mph winds, 2-3 foot waves and rain. What a difference a day makes. We shall stay in this bay for another day when the winds die down.
Boat maintenance day. There is always something to do, and I caught up on a couple of "must do" jobs and even a couple of "nice to do" projects.
Susan had cooked up a great spaghetti Alfredo dinner for last night, and there was enough left for a yummy lunch. For supper we had Mexican Tortillas soup, just hot enough for a light sweat on your brow!
We have had some wicked gusts today, topping 35 mph. This caused our anchor to drag a bit, so we pulled it up and reset it, closer to the beach. Now she is stuck in tight, and we can sleep with no worries.
Although todays staying put, was not planned, it allowed us to get some rest from travelling and catch up on clean up. It all works out in the end; you can't fight the weather!
Tomorrow we cruise for the border to Quebec, and the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
The picture is of an evening sailboat race; some people love the wind!
