Haul out day

I have been a bit preoccupied, and a bit tired the last few evenings. This getting ready for winter, especially at sub zero temperatures is a lot of work! I would have prefered to be in Alabama or Florida for the winter.
I have changed the oil in generator and both engines, as well as transmissions. Now comes the winterizing. The heat pump, both toilets, all three engines and the water system have to have a potable antifreeze run through them or you will have a real bad spring surprise. Also, Susan has been performing her magic on the hull, cleaning and waxing it. That protects the hull during the winter. We were hauled out today, and the bottom powerwashed. I finally discovered where the pesky leak in the skeg was. I think when we hit bottom in New Jersey, a chunk of the skeg (bottom of keel) was cracked. This allowed water to travel up the keel into the engine room. Not a lot, but enough to be a bother. I will let it drain all fall, and fibreglass it in the spring.
Now we are living on the Eagle Heart on land. It is a bit of a pain, as we only get a 15 amp plug in. It is 6 degrees at night so heat is nice. We have one heater warming the boat, and the fridge. Thats all the circuit will hold.
We went out for dinner with some fellow loopers that are also leaving their boat at this marina. Now get the blog done, and off to bed. We are both pooped!
