Out diving, at last!

As the winds have pocked up, we are staying at Green Turtle cay a couple of more days. A Canadian couple we know are avid skin divwrs, and suggest we go to a nearby beach for a snorkle expedition. We walked down the white sand beach and donned our mask, flippers & snorkle. The water was a tad murky, due to wave action. There were no reefs, as we had hoped, but found some baby lobsters and a few conch. One was undersized, and one was ok, but I threw it back as you need more than one for a meal.
Sadly, there has been a huge amount of overfishing by the Dominican Republic, and conch, lobster and many native game fish have been targeted. The Bahama government has put restriction in place to try and conserve the local stock. Sounds familiar to Canadian fishing problems.
We bombed around town in our golf carts, and stopped at a local pub for appies...and beer. Pretty cool, as long as You remembered to duck through the 5'6"" door!
