Island Rolls Royce

We went cruising; island style today, in our golf cart. Checked out the three grocery stores ( small) and 3 hardware stores (smaller). Then Herb and I went to Shorty's take out to try their Conch fritters. Thats the fourth place we tried out for this island delicacy. Pretty good, but Pineapples bar edged them out. Susan and Leanne hit the one jewelry shop, ( no purchase) and also went to all the grocery stores checking out souvenirs (no purchase). Dont mind the price, but same old stuff with differant names on T shirts, cups etc.
One thing that is surprising is the price of fish and lobster. You can dive down and catch them skin diving, yet still selling for 24.00 a pond. Snapper is 10.00 for a fillet the size of 3 fingers. ( no purchase!) It is definitely worth doing your own fishing!
The winds are howling at 25-30 mph so nice to be alongside a marina.
We saw a sign stating "Captain Eddies fresh Conch salad", so I phoned him. No restaurants serve this. It is a mixture of lemon & lime juice, raw conch, onion, tomato, ginger, cilantro and pepper. I ordered 7 salads in the morning, and made them for us to take to boat for dinner. Mmm good. Between the salads and t shirts je make, we left 130.00 with him. He is doing well working out of his house. Thats his Rolls Royce in todays picture! Real nice home also.
