Susan and I have been on the boat since June 28. It is still wrapped up for winter, and as has been raining, that is good! I have had a lot of engine, transmission, propeller and shaft work done in the last 3 months. Hopefully that will mean a trouble free year ahead.
You may wonder why all this maintenance? When we bought the boat I changed all the hoses, and belts. That was about it. In the past two years we have cruised 925 hours, 6,500 miles, and the propellers have revolved over 81 million times. Things wear out, just like us!
We have taken a half day off today to go to the park, listen to bands, and see many of the local crafts, various ethnic displays, and exhibits. I was disappointed that the one festival that I wanted to go to; the craft brewers exhibition was just Saturday and Sunday. Missed out on that. Too busy working.
I hope all of you had a chance to go out and join in some of the festivities.
The evening wrapped up with a 45 minute fireworks display, just across from our marina. We literally had front row seats, and it was quite impressive.
