Fort Pierce Market Day

This morning, as we prepared for departure, I noticed tents being set up in the park attached to the marina. We had heard of the Saturday Market, and I walked up for a look. As far as you could see, stalls were being set up. I went back to the boat, and asked if Susan wanted to go shopping. DUH! She had her pack sack and running shoes on in 5 minutes. Some of the stalls were regular produce, smoked fish, smoked meat, pastry, bread, and of course, my favourite, the mini donut's! In addition there were literally around a hundred artisan stalls featuring hand made dresses, jewelry, carvings, pottery, charcuterie boards etc. mind blowing how much stuff there was. I purchased my mini donuts, some pastry and returned to the boat. Susan had a fun couple of hours looking at all the unique items for sale. Amazingly she came back with just a few items for the grand kids!
We then left the dock to cruise South to Stuart, where we shall be staying for a week. As we left the harbour, we saw that unknown to us, the other half of the market was in another park! Phew, ducked that bullet! Would have definitely stayed to experience the other market.
As we cruised south in our now normal 20 mph + winds, life was good. We are contained in a fairly narrow waterway, so the waves are less than one foot. You can put up with a lot of wind, but very little seas, or waves, usually less than 3 feet! As we were cruising, Susan commented on the power lines going across the waterway. They looked like the jewelry hanger dresses on her bedroom dresser. I have a picture in the photo gallery, and have to agree! We are now anchored at North Point next to Stuart. Just relaxing before heading into the marina tomorrow. I have a full 5 days of teaching ahead, so will be pretty busy. I try to never teach more than 3 days in a row, but all these schedules seem to land on next week. Cest la Vie. At least companies still like me!
Just a side bar; the waves between Bahamas and here are now 6 to 10 feet. Right choice leaving last week, even though I wanted to stay longer!
