Final Cruising day
06 September 2022 | Frankfort City Marina
Susan Robin | 70 degrees, Stellar day!
Captain Michael at the helm.
We ended our pleasant afternoon and evening in Charlevoix early,as we were all tired from the O'dark thirty (0400) start and passing underneath the Mackinaw Bridge at 0500.
After a good nights sleep we left the Charlevoix marina in time for 0830 bridge opening, along with three other boats, and a ferry that was heading to Beaver Island.
The weather gods gave us a spectacular day to cruise back to Frankfort where we started our trip. There were zero waves (a real rarity) and 3 mph following winds, which meant hardly any apparent wind on deck. With 70 degree temperatures it was warm! Love it!
While I (Susan) was keeping Michael company on the bridge, John was busy helping Betche install some LED lighting in the galley that no other local electrician had the time to do. Betche is now officially the "Wizards Apprentice".
Tomorrow we will help Betche and Michael clean the boat and pack our bags. We will need to buy another one of our favourite rubbermaid totes for some of the purchases we both made. Many think we look like refuges travelling with these totes, but we have found that airline baggage handlers love them for the ease of stacking, and they are extremely great for packing breakables during airline travel.
On Thursday M & B are driving us back to Sault Saint Marie where we will spend the night in a hotel, as our first flight on Friday is scheduled to board at 0530, we hope 🤞!?
