"Missä olet nyt?"
This time the voice wasn't inside my mind.
I stood aside the high cliff watching towering seas breaking upon Cape Reinga below me. The gale wind blew stinging spray up around the lighthouse in a colourful mist. I sheltered behind the stone wall and took out my little tin box Anni had given me a long time ago.
"Näen sinut. Olemme lähellä toisiaan nyt"... or was it the wind playing games?
Sunshine suddenly burst through pure white clouds and in the haze, close to the strange shaped rock where the wall ended, she stood there and watched. I smiled and she smiled back.
I forced open the battered tin lid and the few strands of white blond hair inside suddenly scattered in the breeze. I hadn't planned it like this, I thought I would bury my little box under a rock in New Zealand forever. I looked up and she was still there...
"Rakastan sinua ja antaa sinulle anteeksi."
I couldn't understand her... I spoke only a little of her language and so I guessed. Or rather, I think I knew. The sunshine faded under another great cloud and she was suddenly gone. I thought hard to remember a few words and whispered softly in the howling wind, "Hyvästi rakkaani"....
I heard Sanna's soft, familiar giggle in my mind and I turned to walk away to where Marie stood waiting...
