Once we'd finally made the crossing from Sri Lanka to Langkawi in Malaysia a whole new adventure opened up for us in Southeast Asia. From Langkawi we sailed north to Thailand, staying there for three months before returning south down the Malacca Straits to Singapore. Following our one month stay in Singapore we made our way first to Labuan, then to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Borneo.

For the first time we also became a crew of four, Marie's son Henry joined us and also my youngest daughter Louise, our combined task was to home educate Henry onboard Sänna... whilst at the same time Henry's ambition was to have an adventure of a lifetime...

This became a treasure period for all four of us, setting the parameters for the rest of our eastwards voyage to New Zealand...
