Hangin Out In Hammo

Warm, strong winds
What a difference a day makes.
On our morning walk at Airlie Beach we continued to discuss options for the next week given the strong winds due anytime, and thought why wouldn’t we just head over to Hamilton Island for a week’s holiday? Hamilton Island would cost us $90 a night for a marina pen and we would have full run of the resort for a week! So we left Airlie Beach – not that Airlie is a bad spot, it’s great however the main street is all ripped up for a facelift at present, and we’re past the backpacker phase – and when else would we get a week at Hammo for $90 a night! It was a rough trip over but well worth the effort and here we are.
So today we made it to Catseye Beach, and found a nice palm tree on a bit of grass above the beach – had a swim – read a book – had a drink at the Yacht Club and then the Marina Tavern – sundowners with some people we met from the Atherton Tablelands, and now dinner – not much else to report really – life is great ‘Hanging out at Hammo’.
