Donna goes home

28 May 2008 | Cape Town
May 27, 2008

After a very very tearful good-bye I left South Africa to come home. The flight was long 18 hours but it was good to finally be home. It was such a surprise to see flowers, and leaves on the trees, when we left it was still winter.

I spoke with Wayne last night (what did you mean it is so quiet?) and he said the boat sailed beautifully during the test sail. The wind was 17 knots and they had a speed of 7.5 knots with a reef in the main. He is so excited and is hopeful to get the needed 3 day weather window in order to leave on Saturday. He still needs to receive his US Coast Guard Documentation papers and a South African safety inspection but hopefully everything will come together.

I already miss you - God sped Wayne, I love you, and be safe !
