It's been a wet and wild 24 hours with the forecast 20-25 knot south-easterly actually turning into a shocking localised squall system with winds to 45 knots (average 30-35 sustained) and seas to 5M. Not champagne sailing at all but our girl is managing the conditions well and we are still making good progress towards destination. It's now 1700 local time on Sunday 8 October and the conditions are slowing easing down. The sun has appeared for the first time today, her rays ripping through the grey storm clouds and offering first a peek, and then a panorama of bright blue tropical sky. The sea state will take several hours yet to abate; it's down to around a very boisterous 3- 3.5M with massive white caps. A long night is ahead for the Captain and the crew but all is well onboard.
