Lawrence /Cloudy/78 degrees/ winds @ 20+knots
We left Tom Point Creek early Thursday morning, and by 11:30 we were docked in Charleston at the St. John Yacht Harbor. Our friend Gail came out to get us at 15:30 after we had both cleaned up and we had finished our laundry. Gail & Jim as well as Karen & Mark took us out to The Lot restaurant, which was excellent! We had such a great time. We both wish it could have been for longer. We're going to try to stay in Charleston longer next fall.
So this morning we started out late because the Wappoo Creek Bridge doesn't open until 09:00. It worked out fine, because we had wind and current helping us along all day. We managed 52 miles in less than 7.5 hours, and dropped the hook in the South Sante River at 15:45. The wind which helped us today is still blowing a steady 20 knots and is supposed to switch around to the Northwest. We're also supposed to get rain, so we may sit tomorrow. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Fair winds & Smooth sailing,
Elaine & Lawrence S/V Elle & I
