Velcro Beach

Elaine/Sunny a little cool/72 degrees
We have been here almost a full month! We have been either very lazy or extremely busy - I think somewhere between the two lies the truth. We have been having a great time. Aside from one afternoon of wild wind with two boats dragging, one in front of us and the other to our stern, the weather has been great. At least we stayed in place. We have spent time at the beach, watched the Super Bowl with Judy and Don, S/V Suite Endeavor, Gina and Joe S/V Okemah Rose, and Lynn and Russ, local friends! We also visited Lynn and Russ in their recently purchased condo along with Judy, Don, Gina and Joe for a great and Long Happy Hour. Repairing the dinghy has been a chore, as many cruisers know seams are a bear! We are now on our 4th fix after spending almost a full day rolling the dinghy about with some liquid that goes inside the tubes! The two part epoxy seems to be working and we thought we were done with the seam repair. Got in the dinghy to find a minuscule leak on the other seam. So back to repairing and waiting 24 hours to allow it to cure! We have met great new friends: Mark and Dee on S/V Friends along with their children and grandchildren who are traveling separately on their own sailing vessel. Bev and Mike, S/V Tulla whom we met with Dean and Susan Perry (S/V Autumn Bourne) are also here. We joined them along with about 12 other cruisers for Bev's birthday at Riverside. It was a great evening meeting more cruisers. Trips to the beach are always great; the shell collecting has been limited - perhaps we are becoming more selective. We are looking forward to friends, Sharon and Ahti on S/V Perfect Match, from our time on the hard in Deltaville to arrive on Monday!
The hours and days go by so very quickly and it is very hard to believe we have been here a month. It was glorious to bask in 88 degrees while our family up north was dealing with a foot of snow! One last small but wonderful event- the photo above is from another visit we had. This beautiful dolphin actually swam back and forth under Elle & I turning up to look at us as he(she) went by. I got one shot by luck, but being there was the best part.
Fair winds & Smooth sailing,
Elaine & Lawrence S/V Elle & I
