Course Plan Adjustments

Steve
We've reviewed our itinerary this weekend and had the committee meeting and decided to change our immediate cruise plans and instead of crossing the Indian Ocean right away we will cruise South East Asia for the next 5 months and then cross the Indian in January from Phuket. By slowing the pace down, this will give our crew more experience with sailing this boat, living onboard and, since its a new boat, any problems can be dealt with by the local agent here (all under warranty).
We are considering heading up the eastern Malaysian peninsula to Pulau Tioman, Pulau Redang and onward to Ko Samui for approx 2 months then return to Singapore for a stopover before heading up the western eastern Malaysian peninsula to Langkawi and onwards to Phuket where we'd also like to visit the Andaman Islands. By January the westerlies will be favorable to make the crossing to Maldives and then to Chagos Archipelago and onwards as planned to Mauritius, Reunion and South Africa....
Lately we have been completing small tasks on the boat: replacing our main anchor for the Rocna, marking the anchor chain, changing our support rigging for the dingy, changing out 3rd reef clew rigging, etc, etc. Rose has a tenant now for her apartment so we are committed to move onboard August 1st. And I have 3 weeks left of work to complete and close out.
That tunnel light is getting brighter!
