Langkawi

We arrived in Langkawi from a day sail from Penang and anchored on the NE side of Pulau Singa Besar in scenic bay with a few other cruisers. Ashore was a rustic washing and shower station where we cooled down before meeting our Robin Crusoe friends who are setting up a new safari and fish farm. Later we caught up with Mike and joined him on a hike toward a fresh water lake to look for otters (none) and then up the river bed to a few waterfalls and a cool splash in a pond.
We took in another anchorage known as the 'Gorge' which was unique and woke to wrestling monkeys in the nearby hills, kites fishing, monitors also fishing.
The southern islands of Langkawi are picturesque, peaceful and uncrowded and we are enjoying our stay here. We stopped in at Kuah for a few hours to provision at the duty free (cant miss this opportunity for cheap(er) booze) and visit the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club before we head up to the northern areas.
Sailing is easy here with regards to deeper waters around the 40+ islands, good anchorages, good holding. Winds have been light, no squalls to date. I see why cruisers come and stay!
Have a outboard problem with the Honda BF20. It seems to starve for fuel when increasing the throttle and may be an air leak or possibly gummed up carburetor jets. So need to put some time into checking this out soon.
