Shirl/COLD
Wow what a day! You will notice that the weather section says COLD in capital letters. It has been our coldest day so far this year. It was in the 50's last night and the high is predicted for the low 70's. I am actually wearing long pants, and a top with a sweater.

Ed and I had a great meal at the Seven Mile Grill. They have become our second family. Some how we went from just eating there as regulars, advancing to good customers and finally to family. The transition gradually happened without an awareness on our part. We are thrilled to be adopted by a great group of people.

Part of the process was sitting at "our spot" at the bar. We were privy to the inside workings of the restaurant, and its owners. The weight staff shared their personal thoughts with us and before we knew it we were family. One of the many perks were the snacks we were given ....all kinds of treats to taste and experience. Dinner would some times take three hours because they just kept us around. It was mutual we enjoyed the conversation, jokes, and family stories.

Yes ...back to Thanksgiving. They cooked turkey but it was not on the menu. Just something they did for the few friends that came in for the holiday. They even made the stuffing the way I requested. The Greeks sure know their food.

I am thankful for friends no matter where I may roam.
