Left turn for Littlehampton

14 June 2022
SE 3/4, fine, 1022mb
Monday JUN 13: sailed at 0500 with the young flood tide and a perfect NW 3/4 for a first visit to Littlehampton.

Tuesday JUN 14: sailed on a strong ebb tide and another beautiful wind on the port quarter, home to Chichester Harbour. All in the sunshine!

Hard on the wind!

20 March 2022
E Force 4/5, fine, 1025mb
7 AM start - F4/5 on the nose, wind over tide giving short steep Solent seas - merde!
Resolution - sail only with wind abaft in future.

Cracking Reach

20 January 2022 | Newtown IOW
NNW 4, fine, 1039mb steady
A very fair Northerly 15 kts saw Emstar passing Cowes at 10.3 knots SOG!
We anchored for the night in sheltered Newtown IOW

Running Home

09 September 2021 | Newtown anchorage
S - SW 4, fair, 1014 mb steady
After the long run of Easterlies, a beautiful broad reach over Christchurch Bay and home into the Solent.

On the Wind

04 September 2021 | Portland Harbour
ENE - ESE F3, fair, 1011mb
With the persistent fresh Easterly winds, we took advantage of a light Northeasterly to motorsail for Portland.
Made the Bill inshore passage as the tide turned east, then a gentle sail up to our Portland Hbr anchorage.

English Channel Tradewinds 3

01 September 2021 | Brixham Marina
NE Force 5, fair, 1029mb steady
Another early start; leaving our Portland anchorage at 0600 to sail the Portland inshore passage in smooth water.
Then on course for Brixham in a beautiful NE F5 wind perfectly on the quarter: we flew down the rhumb line at hull speed!
