Boxes and Stove

Thursday was a very busy day and momentous in lots of ways. We 1) freed my boxes from customs; 2) installed a brand new, shiny, Force 10 stove; and 3) celebrated the fact that we first met exactly one year ago.
It took us 4 days and lots of frustration to get my boxes through customs. I won't go into the gory details and it certainly could have been worse. But we learned a lot and now have the last of my possessions and a whole lot of bits and pieces for the boat. Of course that just means more projects are in our future.
The new stove is a great addition. Very bright and shiny, though the oven is a bit smaller than the old one. The old stove was rusty and one of the burners no longer worked. Mark nearly lost his eyebrows recently trying to use the broiler so it's good to have it gone.
Just so you don't think it's all work and no play. We fit in a hike to Mt. Hartman with a nice overlook of the bay and I swam from Roger's beach bar back to the boat for the first time. Sunday we're heading off for a nice brunch in Whisper Cove.
