This isolated cove was most relaxing and, because we finally had a sunny day, was a great place to kayak.
While pedaling about we saw a poster on a tree near some rocks, so I landed the kayak to see what it was. It turned out to be a warning and a tribute to "My Best Friend Sammy". In 2013 a boater took his dog Sammy ashore, and while standing on some rocks a cougar came out of the woods, killed Sammy and carried him off. There was a picture of a cute little terrier wearing a life vest. Clearly a reminder that this is wild territory populated by animals who behave as nature intended.
