As we started the engine, I noticed a small leak in the exhaust hose just beyond the mixing elbow. It looked to me like it was probably stress related since, on close inspection, I think the people who replaced the start batteries did not properly re-install the exhaust support. Lynel and I together have done every other battery installation on Eos (main house bank, stern thrusters, bow thrusters) and have never had problem. When the start batteries needed attention, I was having major back issues and 4D AGM batteries are 135 pounds each, so I hired out the work. It was just another of why I try to do all my own maintenance.
Anyway, after a few hours a secure temporary repair was in place and we came on down to Sidney where we were assigned G-25. We had a beautiful sunny day in Sidney on 9/5, did some provisioning, visited the aquarium and had an excellent lunch at the Rum Runner
