Well, the forecast is still giving easterly winds for the foreseeable future, but I have now moved on board. By which I mean the car is at home, the home fridge and freezer are empty and turned off; my kit is aboard and the boat fridge is stocked!

This week has been attending to lots of little but important jobs. I’ve just finished treating the water system - first a cleaning, then a rinse, then a refill, and change the carbon filter. Since the system holds 345 litres, it takes a long time to do this!

It just remains to collect the spray hood and cockpit awning, which had to have a zip replaced, and I should be ready to go.

Now, about that wind...
