In early afternoon I tied up in the transit marina in Oban. These are pontoons where berthing is limited to 3 days, specifically targeted at visiting yachts. I’m spending tow nights here, and according to plan C will meet Kate and Asher here on Monday!
On Saturday afternoon, slightly to my surprise, I was visited by Jennifer, daughter of Tim and Liz and my goddaughter, with her boyfriend Jacob. They’d had to come up on the train as there wasn’t’ enough room in the car. We had a fun chat until Liz arrived to collect them and take them on to Croabh to join their boat. As I type this on Sunday, they’re on passage here. We’ll sail in company for the rest of the week.
The rest of the weekend has been spent re-provisioning, and getting ready for company. As my father used to say: thank heavens for visitors!
