Tuesday morning, Eowyn left Tarskavaig in Loch Aline and headed back to Oban, to return Kate and Asher to their car. As we motored across the Firth of Lorn we passed through a very dense fog patch - visibility essentially nil. Loud hoots from a CalMac ferry, so out came our own fog horn and the radar went on. Out the other side, and Oban was still there and I could see to enter the North Passage, keeping close to the edge to keep out of the way of the frequent ferries.
I moored up briefly to let Kate and Asher ashore, and wish them the best for the rest of their holiday. Then, single handed again, back across the Firth of Lorn for the fourth time and up the Sound of Mull to Tobermory to rendezvous with Clan Cropley. The wind blows either up or down Sound of Mull: which depends on which way you're going, it seems - it's always a head wind! Tarskavaig spent the day tacking up the found, but I was less purist and simply motored, so arrived less than an hour after them.
I moored up outside Tarskavaig and Tim & I set off to catch up with the rest of the crew for appetisers ashore. As I type, Jen and Jacob are creating tantalising smells abord Tarskavaig: it's a very nice change to have someone else doing the cooking!
