Los Arquitos
11 January 2009 | Oaxaca
"Los arquitos" means "the arches" and these arches are part of an aqueduct built in the 18th Century to bring water to the city. Now they're just a bit of history, but a neighbourhood has built itself around them and you can wander around the lanes and alleys. Right next to where this picture was taken, you go through the arches into a courtyard that houses a Saturday organic market and also a small theatre that shows free movies every night (eclelctic, but free).
