The First Year!

12 June 2016 | Sainte Lucia
Let the Celebration begin!....Champagne corks popping….horns honking….loud music playing….!! One year to this day we arrived at and moved aboard our sailing catamaran “Escape Claws” and began a new life aquatic. After selling all of our “stuff” back in Portland ,OR. we caught up with our boat in Tortola BVI and have sailed a path that has included 11 countries, over 33 different islands and over 1400 Nautical miles. Not a lot for many folks but if you factor in all the newness it has been a full 12 months. Traditional “work” is a thing of the past with no more conference calls and the only forecast we need is the weather.

Our adventures have led us to some of the most beautiful beaches, lush rain forests, interesting cities, hurricane holes, local events, terrific people, interesting challenges and a new perspective on life….living simpler and taking more of the available time to see things from a new view. We miss family and friends and while we talk via facetime and the phone each and every one is missed on a daily basis. And of course our Four Legged First Mate, Gracie is incredibly missed as well. But these are part of life changes that many of our children and friends have gone through and survived so we should be ok.

We will continue our southward journey to Grenada for Hurricane Season in the next few days but for now we celebrate another milestone in our journey here in Sainte Lucia!

Love to All,
Kevin & Barb
