Plans change....

Last night the weather was wild!
At around 3am the wind was howling down the mountain across the bay. The rigging of the various yachts sounding like an orchestra gone crazy. Mooring ropes creaking, halyards slapping against masts and the boat moving like a fair-ground ride all made for a rubbish nights sleep.
In the morning it wasn’t any better. Couple that with a weather forecast that said 1.5m swells and we decided to sit it out in Kioni for another day. It’s a gorgeous place and so doing very little for a day, apart from watching the world go by, seems like a great option.
We bumped into Chris and Rachel, (A couple we met in Meganissi a few nights ago) they’d sailed over from Fiscardo and said the sea had been rough and the wind strong.
The forecast looks better for tomorrow so the plan is to awake early and head for Fiscardo arriving in time (hopefully) to find a space.
At 10pm we joined the Italians on the next boat. Two very sweet couples they plied us with white wine and spoke about their hometown of Torino. Finally Roberto asked me if I wanted to try a “Special” Italian liqueur. It sounded dangerous, but hard to say no to such nice hospitality. It was, in fact, delicious. Alcohol, water, sugar and licorice made for 30% proof delight.
It feels cooler here in Kioni. Not cold, but pleasantly cool enough to feel like you can sleep without being too hot.
