Moving on....

The cove around the north side of Meganissi was tranquil and quiet, but at 2am we were struck by loads of swell rolling into the bay making the boat bump around a lot. Not easy to sleep as I had to get up several times to check that the anchor wasn’t dragging. It was all good and we were rewarded with an incredible sunrise over a perfectly flat, calm sea.
We upped anchor and set sail around 8:30 our destination Ithaca and the magical town of Kioni.
The journey over was uneventful. An almost completely flat sea and zero wind made for a 4 hour motor. It was an opportunity to teach Jasmine and Josh a few sailing techniques. Notably a 3-point fix and understanding the Pilot guide to Kioni.
Mooring up in Kioni is reasonably challenging. Jasmine and Josh were great. Jasmine in charge of the anchor and Josh the mooring lines. We eased in to a berth on the town quay one boat away from the mole. Perfect for the swimming off the platform nearby and the water man in the morning.
And so to the bar for an ice cream and ‘wi-fi’ fix. A chance to check the weather in Britain and some football results!
