OCC Dinner

Penny
Have had a week in Noumia and although we have not actually done much we seem to have kept quite busy. Everywhere cleaned and sprayed with insecticide so that we do not have any creepy crawlies when biosecurity visit in New Zealand.
Fire brigade were on strike for a few days and barricaded the road at the back of the marina. It was very noisy as they kept setting off fire crackers and the fire engine siren Heavy police presence although whether to prevent trouble or divert traffic I am not sure. On the second day the pallet barricades were removed and police vans blocked the road instead. Quite a party atmosphere gazebos were erected, coffee or water served and loud music played all day together with the firecrackers and sirens. They all packed up Friday afternoon so I do not know if the strike is over or just off for the weekend.
Friday was Jazz at the Café they seemed very good but Chris was annoyed that he could not hear 'The Archers' over the music
Had an OCC Departure Dinner last night with Time Bandit and Nina at La Chaumiere, it was very good as usual
