Back on the water!

We arrived back on the boat yesterday (Saturday) afternoon, and found everything fine. But no food! Knowing this, we had brought a few breakfast supplies from Nassau, where we stayed overnight before heading back here. But with nothing for dinner, we went up to the Stella Maris resort for dinner. They also own the marina, so they will drive you back and forth if you call them on the VHF. We had a very nice dinner, and back at the boat, unpacked and headed right to bed, still a bit jet-lagged from cris-crossing the continent. But with high tide at 7:00 am, we had to be up early to get away while there was still sufficient water in the marina approach. So we headed out shortly after eight, and headed down the shore for Thompson Bay, where we will stock up before heading off in a northerly direction. However the forecast isn't too great, with strong northerlies for at least the next few days, so we may have more time to re-supply than we would like. But we will see. In spite of the forecast for winds 15-20 knots, we sailed down in a nice 10-15 on a broad reach. So maybe the forecast will change. But we won't count on it, and will be careful to ensure the anchor is well-set in Thompson Bay, where the holding is usually good, and we will be right up in the lee of the shore. There are a few boats we have met before here and we met a new couple, Mike & June Kelly, from Port Jefferson, NY. They came over to chat because they saw "Charlottetown" on our transom and Mike's mother was from Mt Stewart, and he still has cousins there. They also met Geoff and Jane Ralling when they were down here a few years ago. Also we ran into a small boat from Wisconsin that we first met in The Dismal Swamp last November. We have run into them a few times, but I expect this will be the last as they are planning on heading south from here. But tomorrow will be provisioning, as we are really scraping the bottom of the barrel now.
