Unprecedented flooding.

Hello friends,
Just a quick note to let you all know that Adam and I are a-ok. Tropical storm Jimena parked on top of San Carlos for about 48 hours, dumping 25-30 inches of rain and bringing winds up to 50 knots. The storm caused unprescedented flooding and the damage here in town is substantial. All services are down...power, water, cell, etc. and the main road is washed out in multiple places.
The good news is that we have heard of no casualties and boats in the marinas generally fared very well. Now some bad news: no less than 14 boats in the bay were beached during the storm and some sank, though we don't yet know how many. Marina Seca has been severely damaged by floodwaters from the nearby river, which overflowed its normal channel and wreaked havoc in the dry storage facility. I am sad to say that many boats were severely damaged and the office has been gutted by the floodwaters. We tried to check on individual boats, but the ground was too muddy, up to knee-deep in places, to allow access.
We will be updating with additional information and photos as time and conditions allow. I am presently at the Marina Terra hotel, which seems to be the only place in town with internet right now.
Love to you all!
Kris & Adam
