7th visit to the yard

24 October 2009
The Keel Box (yes in capital letters!) is in position, a few stringers, and the roof frames as well. In between our weekly visits to the yards, we are trying to extricate information from engine suppliers and from a winch supplier for our keel winch. This takes longer than we'd like as the local suppliers have to get the info from the parent companies overseas. Our deck gear is nearly all finalized, barring a few bits and pieces. And we've acquired our 5th helmsman, a used Aries wind vane in great condition. This is one of the time consuming parts of building from scratch that I'm glad we're doing now and not when Eva is in the backyard getting her interior built. By then, I don't think we'll have much free time at all!
